The -ph Letter Pattern

This list includes five words which contain the -ph letter pattern.

The -ph letter pattern makes the f sound in all of these words. You should also notice that the -gh pattern at the end of photograph also makes the f sound.

The longest word on this list is chlorophyll. You can break it down into syllables like this: 


	chlo - ro - phyll
Chlorophyll is the green photosynthetic substance found in plants. The word photosynthetic could have made our list since it also contains the -ph letter pattern, but the would have been a really hard word!
