Proper Nouns

Proper nouns always start with a capital letter. They still name persons, places, or things (just like regular nouns), but these nouns are names of specific persons, places, or things. Here are a few examples:


	Texas		New York	Los Angeles

	Las Vegas	Maine		Mexico

	Canada		Japan		Mt. Whitney

	Grand Canyon	Borah Peak	Death Valley

The above examples are all names of places. Here are some names of people:

	Bob		Joan		Dr. Smith

	Ms. Jones	Joe Jones	President Bush
