The -IVE Letter Pattern
The -ive letter pattern can make two different sounds as shown in these two
lists of words:
give five
motive alive
live drive
live
It's worth mentioning that "live" is on both lists since it can be
pronounced either way as we see in these two sentences:
They live in Nevada.
We used live worms as fishing bait.
Possessive Pronouns
Possessive pronouns can be used to show that something belongs to someone or
something. Here are some possessive pronouns:
her his their my our its your
You should remember that it's and its are two different words.
Recall this example:
It's famous for its potatoes.
