Plural Nouns
In the last unit we dealt with simply adding "s" and dropping the y and
adding -ies as in these examples:
Singular Pluarl
boy boys
bunny bunnies
fly flies
tree trees
city cities
jelly jellies
key keys
tent tents
There are other ways to pluralize certain nouns. Take these for example:
Singular Plural
peach peaches
fox foxes
speech speeches
ditch ditches
leash leashes
As you may have figured out from these examples we have a special
pluralization rule for words that end in ch, x, or sh: ADD -ES.
To pluralize words that end in x, ch, or sh, add -es.
