explore
These words all rhyme. They all combine the o and r sounds. Here are some
other words that rhyme with these words, but which use different letter
patterns.
Apostrophes
In this unit we also discussed using apostrophes to show possession. Here
are a few examples:
Example Meaning
Joe's dog the dog that belongs to Joe
the children's toys the toys that belong to the children
the boys' room the room that belongs to the boys
the boy's room the room that belongs to the boy
Pay special attention to the last two examples since they show the
difference between something that belongs to a group and something that
belongs to an individual.
